Maintnance Recommendations

1.Track Pitch And Bushing Wear Measurement

Measure the track pitch across a 5-link section every 500 working hours. For the XE215C 46-link assembly, the standard pitch is 190 mm. If the 5-link measurement elongates by more than 3 mm, or if the pin and bushing show visible radial clearance, the track chain has reached its wear limit. Continuing to operate beyond this point causes the chain to jump teeth on the sprocket, leading to sudden undercarriage failure and expensive structural repairs to the track frame.

2.Inspection Of Track Shoe Bolts And Link Seals

The Track Chain 800305448 are secured to the links by M24 bolts. During every shift change, visually inspect the bolt heads for looseness or shearing, and check for oil leakage around the link pin seals. A loose track shoe alters the effective shoe width and creates uneven ground pressure, while a damaged seal allows abrasive slurry to enter the pin bore, accelerating pitch elongation and causing the link to seize.

3.Avoid Excessive Slipping And Pivot Turns On Rocky Ground

When operating on hard rock or steep slopes, avoid continuous track slipping and sharp pivot turns. Excessive slipping generates localized heat and severe abrasive wear on the sprocket teeth and link rails. Sharp pivot turns on rocky surfaces impose extreme lateral bending loads on the 46-link chain, causing side abrasion on the link rails and accelerating link fatigue cracking.

4.Proper Track Tension Adjustment And Fastener Torque

Adjust track tension with the grease cylinder so the sag measures between 30 mm and 50 mm at the midpoint between the sprocket and idler. Overtightening increases friction and fuel consumption, while excessive slack causes the chain to whip and derail. When replacing worn track shoes, always use brand-new M24 bolts tightened to the specified torque in a diagonal sequence to ensure proper seating on the link rail.
