Increased rolling resistance and jerking during travel

The XE215C track roller supports the weight of the machine as it travels. When the roller seizes or develops flat spots, the track chain jerks violently as it rolls over the damaged surface. The operator feels the machine shudder with every revolution of the track. This jerking motion increases hydraulic pressure in the travel motor and forces the engine to work harder, resulting in increased fuel consumption and operator fatigue.

Uneven track wear and machine misalignment

When left and right track rollers wear unevenly, the effective rolling radius on each side changes. The machine will pull to one side during straight-line travel, requiring constant steering correction from the operator. This misalignment also causes the track chain to rub against the side of the track frame, accelerating sprocket and idler flange wear.

Track sagging and premature chain wear

As the outer diameter of the track roller wears down, the track chain loses its support height. The chain sags excessively between the sprocket and idler, causing it to whip and slap against the track frame. This continuous impact loosens the track tension and causes the chain bushings to wear rapidly. Replacing the worn track rollers restores the correct chain elevation and prevents the track system from tearing itself apart.
